First planted in the spring of 1986, the vineyard started out as seedlings from the wild everberry reds in the fields of the Napa Valley. The rootstock grabbed hold of the fertil Sonoma Valley soil and was trained to grow in set rows without the need for grafting or rootstocking. With successions of careful pruining and organically selected soil, the vineyard flourished to what it is today, over 400 canes.
